Independence Day Celebration – 2026
Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School, Ratanpur, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on 15 August 2026. The celebration was organised to commemorate India’s independence and to instill the values of patriotism, unity, responsibility and respect for the nation among the students.
The programme began with the flag-hoisting ceremony by the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Issac Ekka accompanied by Rev. Sr. Rose Tom, Principal, Rev. Sr. Shalom Vice Principal, Rev. Sr. Regi followed by the National Anthem. The sight of the National Flag unfurling against the morning sky filled everyone with pride and patriotic spirit.
The NCC cadets under the guidance of Mr. Ashok, presented a disciplined and impressive performance. The students demonstrated the values of discipline, commitment and service to the nation.
A special assembly of 9B was presented under the guidance of Mrs. Shampa, Mrs. Bharti and Mr. Hans. Through inspiring presentations, speeches and patriotic activities, the students highlighted the significance of Independence Day and paid tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
The patriotic songs, coordinated by the House In-charges, Mrs. Sunita and Mrs. Jyoti, created an atmosphere of national pride and enthusiasm. The melodious performances encouraged everyone to reflect on the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the responsibilities of citizens in building a strong and united India.
The celebration dance, prepared under the guidance of Mr. Roofi, Mrs. Ragini, Mrs. Rashmi J. and Mrs. Sarita George, added colour and energy to the programme. The students presented a vibrant performance depicting India’s rich cultural heritage, unity and patriotic spirit.
The programme was anchored by Mrs. Renuka, who connected each segment beautifully with meaningful and inspiring words. The coordinated efforts of the programme in-charges, teachers and students contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the celebration.
Special attention was given to discipline and student management throughout the programme. Class Teachers and Associate Teachers remained with their respective students, while the teachers assigned to different areas ensured orderly movement and proper discipline.
The celebration concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold the values of freedom, unity, equality, peace and responsibility. The programme was a memorable celebration that reminded everyone that true patriotism lies not only in loving our country but also in contributing positively to its progress.
