ROLE-PLAY COMPETITION: STEP INTO THE SHOES OF A SCIENTIST

The “Step into the Shoes of a Scientist” role-play competition was successfully organised for students of Classes III to V with the aim of nurturing scientific curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a spirit of inquiry among young learners. The event provided students with an engaging opportunity to learn about the lives, achievements, and contributions of renowned scientists.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who came dressed as eminent scientists such as Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and Sir C.V. Raman. Each participant confidently portrayed the chosen scientist and delivered a short speech highlighting their significant achievements, discoveries, and contributions to the world of science.
The event served as a wonderful platform for students to develop their public speaking, creativity, communication, research, and presentation skills. The thoughtful use of costumes, props, and expressive dialogues made the performances lively, engaging, and informative. Through the activity, students not only gained knowledge about great scientific discoveries but also developed a deeper appreciation for innovation, perseverance, curiosity, and the spirit of discovery.
The participants were evaluated by the judges on various criteria, including content, presentation, confidence, creativity, expression, and overall impact. The performances were highly commendable, making the judging process both exciting and challenging.
Overall, the competition was a great success and provided students with a memorable learning experience. It inspired them to explore the world of science and encouraged them to dream big, think creatively, and follow in the footsteps of great scientists.
