Exams & Promotions
- Examinations are conducted according to the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) norms and directives. The whole Academic session is divided into terms. No student is admitted to any of these examinations without fulfilling the required percentage of attendance and having an admission card which is issued from the office when all dues have been paid at least 3 days before the commencement of the examination. All dues (fees for the entire year, library books, badges, trophies, uniform etc.) must be cleared one week before the annual examination. The admission card (nothing handwritten on it) must be kept with the examinees during the examination and he should be ready to present it to the invigilator.
- No pupil may absent himself from an examination or test except when prevented by reasons of severe and unavoidable ill-health, in such cases an application should reach the Principal on or before the day of examination or test and a medical certificate must be produced. The Principal may use her discretionary powers for examination and promotion of such students.
- Those absent from the examination, partially or totally without grave reasons/previous written permission will be regarded as having failed. They will be debarred from giving the same examination on the later date.
- Unexpected absence from one or more subjects of an examination involves the loss of marks for those subjects and excludes the pupil from being ranked and graded in the order of merit and from a prize.
- Any possession or use of unfair means detected during the examination is liable to punishment at the Principal's discretion and in serious and repeated cases the student will have to repeat the class or will be expelled from the school.
- For sufficient reasons, such as unsatisfactory progress in studies, insufficient attendance, serious misconduct, etc., a pupil may be debarred from an examination.
- A student with a minimum of 75% attendance alone will be eligible, and allowed to appear in the Annual Examination.
PROMOTION
- Every student is required to get qualifying grade D in all subjects.
- A pupil needs to complete all the exams applicable to respective classes and obtain the qualifying grade to be promoted to the next class.
- For promoting a pupil to the next higher class, the year's record of work will be taken into account along with the marks of the examinations. Regular attendance and steady work will be a condition for promotion.
- The year's record of work consists of the following:
(i) The day to day written work including compositions, home- work daily lessons and periodical assessment.
(ii) The individual traits of character, such as good conduct, obedience, regularity, punctuality, a sense of responsibility, co- operation, sociability, etc,
(iii) Application and participation in the class, ability to formulate one's own answers, ability to converse in English, upkeep of note books, text books and school diary, discipline etc.
- The progress reports are to be signed by the parents as proof of having seen the report.
