On a splendid morning of 6 February, the faculty of Carmel School, Ratanpur, left their classrooms behind for the breathtaking vistas of the scenic Tawa Resort (MPT) for their highly anticipated annual picnic. The day unfolded as a perfect tapestry of relaxation and gentle adventure, featuring a serene cruise on the shimmering Tawa Reservoir and an awe-inspiring visit to the monumental Tawa Dam. Camaraderie flourished over a delightful and sumptuous shared luncheon, where laughter and stories were exchanged as freely as the delicious food. This rejuvenating interlude, immersed in natural beauty and warm fellowship, created a treasury of cherished memories for all.
SHIKSHA NETRITVA SAMMAN 2025
Sr. Rose Tom, Principal of Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School, Ratanpur, was honoured with the esteemed Shiksha Netritva Samman 2025 on 11th October 2025 at Hotel Sayaji. The award, presented by Dr. Nidhi Mithil Bhandare, recognised her exemplary leadership , dedication, and commitment to fostering excellence in education.
BEST CULTURE SCHOOL AWARD
On September 13, 2025, Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School was distinguished with the esteemed 'Best Culture School Award' at the Samavesh Educator's Conclave, held at the Radisson Gulmohar in Bhopal. This prestigious accolade, presented during the conclave's Samavesh School Awards ceremony, serves as a resounding endorsement of the school's unwavering dedication to nurturing and promoting cultural excellence. The event, which convened eminent educators, principals, and industry leaders, provided a platform for discussing pioneering educational practices. Vice Principal Sr. Josmin graciously accepted the award on the institution's behalf, which was also represented by teachers Mrs. Bindu Rajeev and Mrs. Vibha Biji, who attended the insightful seminar. LEARNING MATHEMATICS THROUGH ACTIVITIES
Five Mathematics teachers -Mrs. Simimol Scaria, Mrs. Mini Saxena, Mrs. Mamta Thakur, Mrs. Mary Joseph, and Mrs. Saritha V.—attended an interactive workshop on “Learning Mathematics through Activities” held on 13th September 2025 at The Residency Hotel, M.P. Nagar, Bhopal. The event was organised by Bharati Bhawan Publishers and Distributors and witnessed the participation of around 100 teachers representing 20 schools in and around Bhopal. The session was conducted by Ms. Surbhi Bhandari, a subject expert and CBSE Resource Person, who introduced innovative methodologies for teaching mathematics through hands-on activities. The workshop focused on making mathematical concepts engaging and accessible through interactive exercises, games, and real-life applications. Overall, it proved to be an enriching and insightful experience, equipping the teachers with practical strategies to make mathematics learning joyful and effective in alignment with the NCF guidelines.

THE KAYASTHA SAMAJ'S KAYASTHAM-2025
The Kayastha Samaj's Kayastham-2025 event was successfully held on January 17th at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal. The event aimed to promote intellectual activities within the Kayastha community and honored 44 personalities across 13 different categories who have brought recognition to the community both domestically and internationally. Senior journalist Mahesh Shrivastava presided over the event, while Manoj Shrivastava, Commissioner of the State Election Commission of Madhya Pradesh, was the chief guest. Other notable attendees included former MP Alok Sanjay, former MLA Shailendra Pradhan, and former Municipal Commissioner Devi Sharan Shrivastava. During the event, Sunita Bhatnagar was felicitated with the Kayastham Samman-2025 award in the literature category, receiving a trophy, shawl, certificate, and shriphal.
HONOURING EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION: SISTER ROSE TOM RECEIVES THE PRESTIGIOUS 'SUPER 30 EDUCATORS AWARD' AT MIMANSA PRINCIPALS’ CONCLAVE, BHOPAL.
Sister Rose Tom, Principal of Carmel Convent School, Ratanpur was honoured for her outstanding contribution in the field of education at the Bhopal chapter of 'Mimansa', Madhya Pradesh's largest Principals' Conclave on 18 January 2025 . The ceremony was held at Radisson Hotel, Bhopal. The chief guest of this program was CBSE Regional Officer Mr. Vikas Kumar Agarwal. He inaugurated the program by emphasizing on strategies that promote inclusiveness and diversity in education. The Mimansa Principals Conclave provided a platform to bring about change and promote excellence in the field of education. On this occasion, Sister Rose Tom was honoured with the 'Super 30 Educators Award' for her exemplary leadership and dedication to education. Leading education experts and school heads attended the event. Networking sessions, workshops and motivational presentations were organised during the event. Mrs. Sandesha Dani got the Teacher Excellence Award 2024-25, organized by Rotary Club Of Bhoj Bhopal. A total of 22 teachers of different schools of Bhopal have received that award on the basis of their achievements and students voting. Their selection process started from 03/09/24 .
SOF BEST PRINCIPAL AWARD FOR INDIAN TALENT OLYMPIAD
Rev. Sr. Rose Tom was honoured with the prestigious SOF Best Principal Award on ranking among the top 1,000 principals from the best schools out of 1.5 lakh schools across India. This LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD was presented to her on the eve of Teacher's Day, recognizing her exceptional dedication to the field of education. As a token of appreciation, she received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000, a SONATA watch valued at Rs. 5,000, and a Best Principal trophy. 30TH CBSE NATIONAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Mrs. Bindu Rajeev and Dr. Runa Paul from Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School, Ratanpur attended the 30th CBSE National Annual Conference held in Kolkata on 6th &7th December 2024. The conference emphasized transformative initiatives, including the mandatory implementation of SAFAL and SQAAF frameworks to enhance school quality and learning outcomes. Key discussions included introducing two levels of Science and Social Science for Classes IX and X, mandatory Health and Physical Education, and skill-based subjects. Experiential learning, environmental awareness, and cybersecurity education were highlighted. Schools were advised to maintain a 40:1 student-teacher ratio, promote hands-on teaching methods, discourage rote learning, and improve infrastructure facilities. A case study on Data-Driven Decision Making: was published in E book published by CBSE Sahodaya School Complex -Kolkata. This case study from the CBSE Sahodaya School Complex-Kolkata conference highlights how Sr. Rose Tom, Principal of Carmel School, Ratanpur, utilized data-driven decision-making to align pedagogy with NEP 2020 and NCF 2022 frameworks. By leveraging insights from assessments, feedback, and technology, the school enhanced academic outcomes, extracurricular engagement, and holistic development.

ELEVATE - SCHOOL LEADERS CONCLAVE
On July 20, 2024, the Elevate - School Leaders Conclave was held at the Radisson Hotel Bhopal, organized by Extramarks. The conclave brought together esteemed educational leaders to discuss building a robust STEM ecosystem in schools. Our school was represented by Sr. Rosetom, Mrs. Bindu Rajeev, Dr. Runa Paul, and Mrs. Vibha Biji. Dr. Poonam Jamwal, Director of Extramarks, delivered a keynote address, sharing her expertise on strategies and best practices for fostering a vibrant STEM culture. The panel discussion explored essential elements, including integrating STEM concepts, hands-on learning, teacher training, and industry collaboration. On Carmel Day, our school recognized and felicitated teachers who guided students to achieve perfect scores in various subjects. For Class X, the felicitated teachers were Ms. Sandesha Dani, Ms. Sheela Joseph, and Ms. Leena Shukla for Science, Sangeeta Yadav for Sanskrit, and Bindi Murlidharan for Maths. For Class XII AISSCE, Ms. Pragati Vijay and Ms. Bindu Dalal were honored for helping students achieve 100% in Chemistry.
