YOUTH PARLIAMENT ORGANIZED AT CARMEL, RATANPUR
On 28.08.2024, Carmel Convent , Ratanpur organized a Youth Parliament session in the school's Activity Hall. The event
featured 43 dynamic participants, who brought to life the various facets of
parliamentary proceedings with energy and enthusiasm.
The participants took on the roles of various ministers, including the Prime Minister, and heads of key ministries such as Home, Defence, Agriculture, and Railways, along with members of the opposition. The session followed a structured agenda, covering essential parliamentary activities like obituary
references, the introduction of new ministers, and the question hour.
Additional segments included discussions on breaches of privilege, papers to be laid before the house, and messages from the upper chamber. The event also
featured a welcoming of a foreign delegation, a calling attention motion, and the
ever-crucial no-confidence motion. The legislative process was highlighted with
the presentation and consideration of both government and private bills.
The session, lasting for one hour, showcased the participants' understanding of
the parliamentary process and their ability to engage in meaningful debate. The
students, full of vigour, demonstrated their preparedness and commitment to the
activity, contributing to the event's success.
The audience in the activity hall responded positively to the proceedings, with keen interest in the unfolding debates and discussions. The Youth Parliament not only provided a platform for the students to display their knowledge and oratory skills but also instilled in them a deeper understanding of the democratic process and governance.
