Empowering young minds with knowledge for a safer tomorrow - OperationMuskaan
On November 29, 2025, students from classes VII, VIII, IX, and XI assembled in the school auditorium for an insightful session under the government's initiative, "Operation Muskaan," aimed at bringing a smile to the faces of the youth by empowering them with critical knowledge for their safety and well-being.
The programme featured three distinguished resource persons who addressed pressing contemporary issues. Ms. Shweta Sharma, a Sub-Inspector from Misrod Police Station, delivered an informative talk on the POCSO Act. She elucidated the legal framework designed to protect children from sexual offences, explained the role of the police in such cases, and detailed the proper channels for filing a complaint. She also provided crucial advice on how to respond to inappropriate behaviour, such as unwanted staring.
The second speaker, Mr. Ashok Tomar, also from Misrod Thana and a Cyber Expert, focused on the perils of cybercrime. He educated students on various online threats and underscored the importance of maintaining robust digital hygiene to safeguard their personal information and digital identities.
Concluding the presentations, Sub-Inspector Mr. Rajkumar Gupta spoke on the core objectives of Operation Muskaan, with a particular emphasis on human trafficking and cyber scams. He elaborated on how children can be vulnerable to misuse by malicious actors and provided practical guidance on mobile security. His key recommendations included avoiding unknown links and messages from unverified numbers, highlighting how such vigilance can prevent mobile hacking and financial fraud.
The session culminated in an engaging question-and-answer round, where students actively sought clarifications and deepened their understanding of the topics discussed. The event proved to be an invaluable initiative, equipping students with the awareness and tools necessary to navigate modern challenges with greater confidence and safety.
